“God has called us to be counter-cultural. If we only have multicultural churches, we are just mirroring society – that’s not what God has called us to do. We need to rise above multicultural Britain and develop intercultural and inclusive churches…”
As we seek to share the good news of Jesus in our diverse urban communities, our churches must become places of welcome and belonging for people of all backgrounds and cultures. Jason Roach speaks with Rev Dr Israel Olofinjana, Director of the One People Commission at the Evangelical Alliance, about the importance for churches to move towards being ‘intercultural’.
Speaking directly to church leaders, and those in positions of leadership in our churches, this bonus episode explores the need for churches to move beyond simply being ‘multicultural’. We’ll hear practical advice and inspiring stories about how church can instead become places where connections are made across the barriers and boundaries of cultures and ethnicities.

Welcome to season 2 of the Everyday Evangelism Podcast from London City Mission.
This season explores the struggles we can face when it comes to sharing Jesus, and how we can begin to overcome these – confidently sharing the good news, particularly with those who are least likely to hear.
The particular struggle we are thinking about in our first episode is: “Well, no one's interested, are they?”
We’re joined by Rachel Jordan-Wolf from Hope Together and Michael Prendergast from LCM’s Southwark team.
With practical advice, and inspiring stories, together we explore the rise in spiritual openness and how we can be encouraged to keep sharing Jesus – confident that the harvest is still plentiful.

You never know what moment might turn things around in someone’s life." - Rachel Jordan-Wolf
In this short bonus episode, Jason Roach is joined by Rachel Jordan-Wolf (Hope Together) and Michael Prendergast (missionary with our South Team) to reflect on how we can respond to a quiet but common struggle: sharing Jesus faithfully but seeing little response.
They share personal stories of loved ones who came to faith after years – even decades – of prayer and conversation. Together, they explore how to keep going when it feels discouraging, and how to stay alert to those surprising windows of opportunity when hearts soften.
